TOP 3 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT SELLING IN THE SPRING MARKET
You may have heard that spring is the HOT season for real estate. You’re right, the spring time is definitely when the most homes are sold. But what does that really mean and how does that affect you as a seller? Selling in the springtime comes with some good, and some bad. So here’s some things you need to know if you plan on selling this spring.
TIDBIT #3 – THERE ARE MORE BUYERS ON THE MARKET!
Yay, right?! I want more people out there fighting over my home, too! So yes, this is great news and a big plus! We have more families hitting the market in the springtime because they want to relocate before the new school year starts. And although not all buyers will be family minded, the majority are. Hence the boom in buyers on the market during the spring. In other parts of the country, the boom is also related to weather, however in sunny Southern California, favorable house hunting skies shine on us pretty much year round. Lucky us!
TIDBIT #2 – THERE ARE ALSO MORE SELLERS ON THE MARKET!
Boo, right?! So because spring is the notoriously hot season to sell your home, everybody wants to sell their home in the spring! So what this means is now you have more competition—your neighbors might be selling their home, as well as ten other homes in your neighborhood! Eek! When you’re selling in the spring, you really have to make sure your home can beat that competition out. Hire a great Realtor who knows how to bring out the best in your property and can design a custom game plan specific to your home!
TIDBIT #1 – IT’S THE PRIME TIME FOR CURB APPEAL!
So like we said, because you have a ton of competition now from other sellers on the market, you have to make your home stand out above the rest. And how do you do this, you ask? Curb appeal is the first step in beating out your competition and attracting all those buyers. Because let’s face it, if you can’t even bring them in the door, how are they going to fall in love with your home? Great curb appeal, and lack thereof, can be the difference between, “Honey, I want it!” to “Honey, keep driving!”
